At Hydrohertz Limited, we are dedicated to redefining thermal management for electric vehicles, homes, and data centres. Founded by Martyn Talbot in 2020, the company began with the development of an innovative waste heat recycling system designed to capture and repurpose otherwise wasted body and ambient heat, improving the energy efficiency of numerous industrial and commercial applications.

Balancing family life and innovation, Martyn welcomed the birth of his first son in 2021 and his second in 2025, milestones that further fuelled his determination to create solutions with a lasting environmental and economic impact.

The breakthrough for Hydrohertz came in late 2022 with the creation of the Dectravalve, a patented multi-zone flow control valve capable of transforming how energy is managed and conserved. In the early days, Martyn balanced a full-time engineering career while developing the product independently, building prototypes late at night, refining the design, and proving its value long before the first investors came on board.

Hydrohertz’s innovations have been recognised on a global stage, with three consecutive nominations for The Earthshot Prize in 2022, 2023, and 2024, acknowledging the company’s potential to deliver transformative environmental impact.

Since then, Hydrohertz has grown from a small R&D project into a company with validated prototypes, reaching TRL6 and attracting investment and partnerships with leading engineering organisations. In 2025, Martyn made the decision to step down as CEO in order to focus fully on product innovation and technical development in his role as Chief Technology Officer. Paul Arkesden, an experienced automotive leader and long-time advisor to the company, has been appointed as interim CEO to guide Hydrohertz through its next phase of commercial growth and strategic partnerships.

Under Martyn’s technical leadership and Paul’s commercial guidance, we are now working closely with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs to prepare the Dectravalve for global adoption.
